Dear Future Music Educators,

Welcome to Columbus State University’s chapter website of the Collegiate Music   Educators’ National Conference (CMENC). We hope you will not only take the time to    review the website, but also will take part in our active and growing organization. There      are many benefits associated with being a CMENC member:

  • All members receive the Music Educators’ Journal and Teaching Music. These publications offer the latest in pedagogical technique and philosophies, current musical trends, as well as products and services.
  • Access to the MENC website. This website is fully packed with information regar-    ding anything and everything about music education. There are discussion boards  that are available for chatting between MENC members (including collegiate), professional music educators, and leading scholars in the field. Also included in the website are articles on incorporating national standards, online lesson plans, and    the latest research developments.
  • Enrollment in the Georgia Music Educators’ Association (GMEA). With enrollment comes access to the state convention in Savannah, GA. There are concerts, workshops, clinics, and exhibits.
  • Developing a working relationship with professional educators, colleagues, and administrators around the Southeast.

In addition to the above benefits, there are other perks to joining our organization.       CMENC offers members the chance to make the transition from being a student to becoming a professional educator as easy as possible. Being involved in CMENC gives   the student the opportunity to work hand in hand with the faculty as well as educators in      the area to establish relationships that will foster the learning of the teaching process.

The upcoming year plans to be an exciting one as we make great musical and pedago-  gical strides together.

Best,

Your CMENC Officers
